Life seems to be flying by recently… Actually, the fall leaves are flying by and disappearing before I even have a chance to run outside with my camera and get some pictures of them! But everything else is moving at about normal pace.. Perhaps some things a little slower!
So let me share with you a little update on a couple of things around here.. Namely, a horse and a cat!
On a side note, I did at least capture one picture of the leaves! Even if it’s the only one I get this entire fall, it still counts, right?
Now before I can tell you how I ended up taking this picture while sitting inside the chicken pen, I have to tell you why I was there in the first place.
This is why:
Meet English! My new kitty – Isn’t he sweet looking?? That’s because he is sweet! Very much so, in fact!
But, since we had just got him and he’s a fairly big cat, he was spending some time in the empty chicken pen, just soaking up the sun, getting used to our farm and everything.
Plus he was getting plenty of attention from the two legged creatures walking around! Which leads up to why I was sitting in the chicken pen.. I was keeping him company!
The sad part is that we ended up having to take him back to his original home earlier today because it didn’t seem to be working out with him and our place.. He wasn’t used to dogs (we have two) and he seemed to want to take off and run! So we decided the best thing was to probably take him home..
Which in turn leads to the one and only picture I’ve taken of the fall leaves this year:
Gorgeous, isn’t it? Actually I thought it was quite pretty! The yellow against a bright blue sky… I don’t quite understand why, but it seems like fall is.. well, only about 2 or 3 days here in Kansas! I mean the weather can be nice, but the colors of the leaves go from dusty green to yellow in nothing flat it seems!
But we’re to enjoy the seasons as they come, right? Right.
One more quick thing, does anybody else have a horse that is obsessed with hedge apples? Biggens (the horse we got a couple of months ago) just goes nuts over them! He will try to stop mid-ride if he sniffs them out and just cannot get enough of them!
Somebody lose a horse?
Don’t worry, he didn’t get all of those hedge apples! Just a couple.. He sniffs one he likes, gingerly takes a bite, shakes it around until the rest falls off and then nibbles on it for a little bit. He’s funny that way!
And English would like to say goodbye (that’s the cat)! In this picture, he’d found his spot in the back of the shop and wasn’t plan to be leaving anytime soon!
Hopefully you’re having a wonderful evening!
Ashleigh
