It’s the first weekend in Fall! Which means, of course, I’m thinking baked goods. But, it also means that we’re busy in this nice cool weather. This calls for quick meals and even quicker desserts (when we have them!) – That’s where these little wonders come in. These brownies are your simple boxed brownie, with a homemade peanut butter layer on top of them and then a simple chocolate topping. Yum! You’re sure to be a favorite if you take them anywhere (Promise. No ifs, ands, or buts, about it!)
You’ll need:
1st layer:
1 box fudge brownie mix
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2nd layer:
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
1 cup creamy peanut butter
3rd layer:
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Start by mixing together your brownie mix according to the instructions and add in your chocolate chips.
Bake according to the box. (See? I told you – Simple, right?)
Once the brownies are baked, cool them throughly. (No picking at them allowed!)
In a large mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, softened butter, and peanut butter.
Using a knife, spread this mixture over the brownies.
In a small saucepan, melt together the butter and chocolate chips. Stir until smooth!
Pour over the brownies, spread evenly, and allow to set for an hour or so to let the chocolate topping set up.
Serve in small pieces (as it’s rich!) and prepare yourself for the fame and love that comes with making these!

These look delicious, I am originally from Ohio and attended OSU for my degree, my mom used to make “Buckeyes” for all our OSU gatherings— this reminds a little of her recipe from the 80’s so I am definitely going to try this out!!
