I believe it was Friday of last week, that I got to hitch a ride out to some pastures and watch the cattle get fed some cubes…
We pulled in the pasture, drove up close to where the cattle were hanging out, shooting the breeze, etc. and honked the horn a few times. I guess it was because they haven’t been getting cubes very long that they just stood and looked at us for about a minute. Then pretty soon it dawned on one of them “Behold! I remember this strange thing! Alas, it has something that’s much better than this dry vegetation we’re stuck with!” And here they came!
There were a few skeptics that kinda meandered along in the background…
But there were also a few of them that felt like being right up in front. After a few more times of getting fed the cubes, I wonder if a few of them won’t decide they’ll come right up in the bed of the truck and get their own cubes.. No more of this dumping them on the ground! (Boy, wouldn’t that be a sight!)
“Fred, I dunno bout you, but I do believe I’m going to revolt. No more grass for me, no sir, I’m gonna join them guys up there with those sacks full of cubes!”“You know, on second thought Fred, this right down here is probably more on my level. I don’t need to bust a hip out again trying to crawl my way up there.” Oh you guys!!
And finally, here they are – Calmly, peacefully, and quietly all lined up munching on their goodies…
