This is going to be a *fairly* short and sweet post! I’m just wanting to touch base with all of you and let you in on some things I’ve been thinking about recently!
First, I love Prairie Gal Cookin. I love all of the connections and new friends (yes, that means you!) that I’ve made because of it.
Second, I don’t want to ever give up on blogging. But I kinda have recently it seems like. So, I’ve taken a good look at my life and priorities recently, and come to a few conclusions.
PGC has become more of an obligation than a release for me or something that I love to do. I think that’s because I felt like there was a certain standard to be kept up for it. This is partly why I haven’t been posting much recently.
I also don’t feel like I’ve been very “real” on here. I’ve been sharing what I thought everyone else wanted to hear about, but not what I wanted to share about. So, I’m going to start letting you guys in on a few more of the everyday things that are happening in my life!
For one, I’m in college! How crazy is that?! I’m studying Communications, but I’ll share more about that later… So, expect a few college tips and study hacks to be coming your way!
Second, I love to shop! (Who knew?) So I’m going to start sharing some “hauls” and a little bit about my insane book/cookbook collections, etc.
I have a crazy love for paper, notebooks, and planners. (Psst, there’s an Ultimate Notebook and Journal Review coming up soon!) So I’ll be wanting to review some new things I’ve found and such…
Throughout this crazy blogging journey, I’ve learned so much from other wonderful bloggers and people in the business. And I’m going to share more about that with you guys! I’ll continue to share tips, tutorials, and just helpful info about the world of blogging. (Check out my free Blogging 101 series, here!)
And lastly? A couple of things that won’t be changing. I’m a Bible-believing, Jesus-saved, God-fearing girl. So I’ll be doing some Food for Thought devotional posts every now and then too.
I still love to cook and share about things that are happening here in the Flint Hills, so don’t worry. The recipes and ramblings won’t be going anywhere either!
And now for the most exciting part…
I’ve never used a “smiley” face on this blog before. Partly, because I didn’t think it looked professional. Partly, because I’m just stubborn. But I’m breaking that now!
See? That felt so much better.. But don’t worry, I won’t saturate my posts with them either!
A couple of more technical notes:
I’ve been told at certain points throughout this whole blogging thing that you need to be on each social media network to be found… But I’m here to tell you that’s not the case! You can only do so much, and it’s okay to admit that you’re not superwoman. Which is why PGC will only be focusing on Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.
I’m sure there are a lot of you wonderful readers out there that are on Twitter, Google Plus, etc. But I just can’t do it all (and I’m okay with that!), so I’ll be focusing on the networks that I’m the best at and actually enjoy.
Thank you for reading all of that!! I can’t wait to share some of the stuff I have coming up and I’ll see you all in the morning!
