We kicked this morning off with a bang by going to the Keriel Dairy Barn Sale! Never heard of it? Let me fill you in!
It’s a barn sale – So there’s a big barn full of venders in the loft and food in the bottom. There’s more venders outside and some more in yet another building – It’s quite an ordeal! (I should also add there are baby calves out front for people to look at and pet!)
We started it off by wandering through the venders outside – The first booth visited was full of fresh cut sunflowers and some beautiful pictures that had been printed onto wood. The gal behind the pictures? She’s the blogger for the site “City Life to Farm Life and Wife” – Go ahead, check it out! You won’t be disappointed!
Here you can see the adorable little camper parked outside one of the buildings – I just love those little vintage campers that are red or teal and are almost small enough to fit in your pocket!
I kinda felt like I needed to share a quick peek into it…
Heading back inside one of the buildings we found some cute little metal covered journals…
And lots of fun home decor from the Pretty Pallet!
I love the chicken.
I think I need a chicken like that.
Don’t you think so?
Yep, me too.
Anyway, back to the barn sale. We can discuss poultry later!
After making our way through the booths outside, it was time to go to the loft! There was peanut brittle (which somehow did happen to find it’s way into my bag and back home with us.. Sneaky little stuff!) , cupcakes, vintage inspired decor, more modern decor, metal pictures, pillows, quilts, vintage Pyrex, dishes, Mason jar decor, bags and purses, books, pure maple syrup (from Michigan!), little journals, and so much more!
Here’s a couple of the metal pictures I really liked! (The one on the right actually had little lights in it.)
I felt instantly drawn to this corner with the old Pyrex, vintage Singer sewing idea binder and all of the neat old stuff! (There were boxes of those Little Golden Books around – Maybe I should go find all of ours if they’re valuable enough to be taken to a sale!)
See that big blue metal snowflake on the wood down there? I’m feeling like it was calling my name too!
I thought it was an apron… But you know what it really is?? A tree skirt! (I love it as a tree skirt, but I think I might have just bought it to use as an apron anyway! I mean, it would still work, right??)
You can buy this pretty tree skirt on The Orange Bird – Birdie and DW are the pair of “chicks” behind it and their mission is to “‘think outside the nest’ and show God’s love to others by using our God given creativity to make and sell things in order to generate profits to support organizations and individuals who are serving those in need around the world.”
Then there was the cow picture… I had to stop and look at it for a minute. I love cows and for some reason I really liked this white cow! (And I thought the blue/green metal containers in front of it were pretty cute too!)
Now after all of that shopping and mingling with some of the locals, don’t cupcakes just sound like they’d hit the spot? We thought so too! So we picked out a dozen of them and grabbed some pulled pork sandwiches and homemade pasta salad for lunch – It was really good!
Did you know they actually made 1,000 cupcakes for this event? In five different flavors?? They did! You can read all about it and see some behind-the-scenes pictures over on their website, I Married a Milkman.
During lunch we went out to one of the tables in front of the barn and watched the cows take in some of their own lunch – It’s a working dairy farm with raw milk in the cooler inside, so it was neat to see all the gals wandering around munching while we were all shopping/eating!
Thank you Keriel Dairy for hosting it – It was a blast to come visit! (Now we have to wait until next year to do it again??? Oh well!)
