Last week, I got to tag along to another pasture burning. It wasn’t as big as the last one I shared about (A 4500 Acre Pasture Burning in the Kansas Flint Hills) but that was okay by me!
I’ve come to realize that I have a love for windmills.. Taking pictures of them mainly! Someday I might get up the gumption to climb one, but for today, I’ll stick to the ground and my camera!
Now this picture doesn’t look like it goes along with pasture burning, does it? This was actually taken yesterday afternoon, while cattle were loaded to be taken out to one of the pastures that we’d burned in the pictures above. Here they are right after the gate was shut.. I would consider this to be bonding time! (Another name for hauling cattle that I was recently informed of is “Cowmobiling”!)
Before we’d even made it to the pasture, you could already see the cattle lined up there, waiting for us..
Okay, maybe they weren’t quite waiting for us.. Just a little confused on which direction they wanted to go!
My favorite part is when the gate is opened. They’re all standing in there, wondering what exactly is going on, and then they see green grass.. And it’s as far as the cattle eye can see!
I can only imagine that they’re thinking: “Oh joy! C’mon boys! It’s party time!”
And they’re gone outta that trailer lickity split!
Until next time guys! Enjoy the grass!
