I love Saturday mornings.
There’s nothing more refreshing than a Friday evening knowing that a Saturday morning is following it.. (I know, my logic is amazing!)
Anyway, want to know why I love Saturday mornings so much? It’s because of a (somewhat) tradition – Thrift shopping!
In the nearest two towns, we have a couple of thrift stores.. But we only frequent the one. Actually we’re there almost weekly (they’re only open on Friday/Saturday part of the day) and we’ve found a lot of nice things in there. Every week it’s an adventure to see what’s new!
This past week when we went to the thrift store, I found a few things and a couple yards of nice fall fabric I loved (I’m stashing this away for my next patchwork quilt!).
(You can read about my current quilt here.)
After the thrift shop, we went to the local “what-not-shop” where I found… Wait for it… Brand new cookbooks for $3 a piece! They were still shrink-wrapped and so I ended up adding a few new ones to my collection – Here’s what we brought home:
Soup Night: Recipes for Creating Community Around a Pot of Soup
FOOD & WINE Best of the Best: The Best Recipes from the 25 Best Cookbooks of the Year
In a Snap!: Tasty Southern Recipes You Can Make in 5, 10, 15, or 30 Minutes
And lastly, I picked this one up last Friday night… (Or maybe it was Thursday!) and have found some really yummy things in it!
Comfort Food Cookbook: 230 Recipes for Bringing Classic Good Food to the Table (Grit Magazine)
Drop me a comment below about what some of your favorite thrift finds are or have been – I can’t wait to hear from you!
