Happy Friday all!
A couple evenings ago, I went over to a neighboring pasture to see the cows and calves.
Have you ever just sat on a four wheeler and watched cattle?
It’s surprisingly relaxing.
I could just sit there for hours and contemplate the big questions in life.
What questions, you ask?
Oh you know. The ones that everybody has.
Such as what cheese to use in today’s lasagna..
Whether I want a blueberry scone or a blueberry muffin more..
And why there’s a new dent on my four wheeler?! Apparently, it was “borrowed” by someone in my sweet family.. Grr..
Like I said, the big questions in life!
At first, the bovine didn’t have much interest in the strange two-legged thing over by the fence talking to them and pretending she was one of them. (The sound effects were actually quite impressive!)
But eventually, they were either extremely impressed or ready to exterminate me.. So they decided to come visiting!
Soon they were all gathered a little ways in front of me, just standing there. From what I could tell, they were having a meeting trying to decide if I was really a matter of interest or not.
And then one of those sweet gals decided to start my direction!
Which I’m sure you know what that meant…
It was safe for the rest to follow her!
“Come on, Gertie Jr. Son, I swear you doddle everywhere we go.”
One of those gals was a bit touché. I mentioned something about how nice she looked for just calving not too long ago and I do believe she took it the wrong way!
Ahh.. Sweet cow love. It’s a precious thing!
“I’m not sure.. But I do know one thing, I’m staying right here. You’re not gettin’ me one inch closer to it!”
“C’mon, Bertha. Move it along, honey!”
Pretty soon the others had lost interest and it was just one little calf and I.
“Okay, well all my buddies are leaving…”
“Woah, jeepers, what an itch!”
It was sure nice visiting with you all!
Until later,
Ashleigh
